Theatre of Marcellus

Have you ever seen such an interesting conglomeration of architecture in one place? This open air theatre (which functions as such again) was built in 12 BCE during the reign of Augustus. A temple in the back is in the process of restoration and leads to the Jewish Ghetto behind it. The apartments above were built in the Middle Ages and what you can’t see behind the columns is of course another church complete with bell carillon.
