Santa Sabina

This is one of the oldest churches dating from 422 CE set in a beautiful park at the top of the Aventine hill. Santa Sabina is a perfect example of a Roman basilica that was converted to a church, repurposing without having to change very much. I refrained from taking pictures inside when a service was going on but if you are taking my Art 1A class this interior is featured in your textbook. It includes the original columns, flooring, and only added some mosaics to turn it into a church.
