I chose this large amphora for two reasons, one is that it is the most common of jars found in Rome and we are staying close to what used to be the town dump. We ate in a restaurant in that location where they piled up the amphora shards to create a wall and put glass in front of it so you can see the shards through it. But mostly I wanted you to see how amazingly well a jar like this can be rebuilt with only a few key pieces. It was quite impressive.
