This room is believed to have been used by servants so should have been merely geometric design. There is such a floor underneath and this one was laid over the top in Byzantine times. Strange imagery- women doing sports and there are various theories some that this villa (whose actual owners and/or purpose is still a mystery) may have been a brothel, public baths, or who knows the first example of Title IX?!
