This is the largest church in Sicily and the facade is a little odd as it was left unfinished in 1798 because war was threatened with France.The columns are huge and look like smokestacks rather than columns. The church was started in 1687 but seems a bit dull compared to others we’ve seen. Apparently from the cupola one can see the mainland of Italy. The rough part you see is the monastery behind.
