Greek Theater, Catania

This is supposed to be the place where Alcibiades urged the people to sides with the Athenians against Syracuse in 415 BCE. It would have seated 12,000 spectators. The steps were lave but covered with marble. There are remains of 11 small rooms underneath that would have served as dressing rooms, rehearsal space. The water seems to be free flowing from a spring.
