Badia di Sant' Agata, Catania, 1735-37

The facade of this church is perfectly Baroque with both concave and convex surfaces. It was designed as the others in Catania by Vaccarini, a student of Bernini’s. St. Agatha is the patron saint of Catania. She was martyred in 251 CE for spurning the advances of a Roman official. This one looks like a wedding cake to me.
