Temple of Castor and Pollux

Temple of Castor and Pollux

This is actually the remains of two temples so attributed to Castor and Pollux, Greek mythological twins, one mortal and the other a god. In fact remains of statues related to Demeter have been excavated there so the attribution is likely to change. These are not open now for visitation so this is as close as one can get. These remains are a popular image used by Sicilian tourism and often seen in paintings.
